The Wheel was established in 1961 by the Army Corps of Engineers to service the builders of Canyon Lake Dam. It was the largest of the 71 dance halls built in America at the time — a landmark of Texas culture from the very start.
Home to Country Music Legends
Over the decades, The Wheel hosted some of country music's biggest names — including George Strait and Willie Nelson. The dance floor filled night after night with the sound of live music and the boots of the Texas Hill Country.
Years of Decay
After years of hard use and changing times, The Wheel fell into disrepair. The building sat weathered and dormant — a forgotten giant, its roof caving in, its stage silent, its legacy waiting to be reclaimed.

Jeff Logsdon and Josh Bucy acquired The Wheel with a singular mission: restore it to its original glory. The same hands that resurrect classic American automobiles turned their attention to something bigger — a piece of Texas history.
The Restoration
The structure was carefully deconstructed, catalogued, and rebuilt. Original materials were salvaged where possible. Every beam, board, and detail was treated with the same obsessive craftsmanship Valor brings to every project.
The Wheel Spins Again
The Wheel reopened in 2025 as a fully restored dance hall — ready once again to host live music and celebrate the Texas spirit. A testament that true craftsmanship, whether applied to steel, chrome, or timber, never goes out of style.
